In early March, I experienced a lot of blood in my urine. Routine testing in my doctor’s office also revealed cells of a malignant neoplasm.
My Primary Care Physician (PCP) made appointments for further GI and bladder exams. He ordered a strong antibiotic and several comprehensive (and invasive) tests: An esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), as well as a cystoscopy in my bladder.
Both of these tests resulted in very good news in terms of my overall health. For example, the GI doctor said the my “overall GI tract - mouth to rectum) was younger than I was.“ We laughed. However, neither revealed any outstanding rationale for the bleeding or for the malignant cells in my bladder.
In addition, both physicians (urology and GI) were able to refer electronically to the results of a whole body PET scan with contrast. That test that had been done in late February to check the 24-month results of my neck cancer 2 years ago. [That scan revealed no cancer anywhere.] Consequently, both doctors were able to further examine my liver/gall bladder (GI) and my kidneys/ureters (Urology).
I will see my PCP in 10 days to develop a strategy or plan on how to move forward without knowing exactly what was happening that that caused the bleeding or the presence of malignant cells in my bladder.
Regardless of my physical condition, however, I still remain an already-loved eternal spirit in the consciousness of God.
Blessings, Don
